This Day in History

November 21, 1620 Aboard the Mayflower, anchored off the Massachusetts coast, 41 Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact (which is actually dated the 11th of November because Britain was still using the Julian calendar). It said: "For the glorie of God and advancement of ye Christian faith, we do... covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick...to enact,... and frame... just and equal laws...for the general good of the Colonie, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience."

"For the glorie of God"? Wow. Someone told me the other night at church that Barak Obama will not put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance -- do you know if that is true? I wonder if he will put his hand on the Bible during his swearing in?

A beautiful posting!
I wonder also regarding Sheri's question....It's been said he hasn't been to church since the election.
